Share of Voice
See what percentage of the conversation each brand owns.
Share of Voice (SOV) calculates the proportion of total ad spend, impressions, and mentions that each brand holds within a competitive category. It is displayed as a pie chart and trend line so you can see both the current snapshot and how SOV has shifted over time.
SOV is recalculated automatically after every ad collection run. The trend line updates daily. You can switch the metric between spend, impressions, and ad count.
Select the competitive set you want to analyse (all brands in a category).
Choose the SOV metric: Ad Spend, Impressions, or Ad Count.
Read the pie chart for the current period snapshot.
Read the trend line to see if a brand is gaining or losing share.
Export the SOV chart via the Reports page for client presentations.
SOV is one of the most-cited metrics in agency client reports. Having it calculated automatically from real ad data β rather than estimated from media buys β gives your agency a credibility advantage.
- SOV is only meaningful when all major competitors in the category are tracked.
- A sudden SOV spike usually means a competitor launched a new campaign β cross-reference with Ad Feed.
